Soaking up the Summer Sun: How to Enjoy the Rest of Boating Season

We’re not ready to admit it yet, but summer is starting to wind down. Which means now is the time to take advantage of hitting the water while the warm weather is still here. There’s plenty you can do to soak up the summer sun before boating season is over! Whether you’re looking to take a small trip or want to find ways to spend more free time during the week on the water, there’s plenty you can do. Let’s dive into some ways you can enjoy the rest of boating season!

Late-Summer Boating Trips

End-of-summer boating trips are great because you can enjoy warm days and cooler evenings. Whether it’s a day trip or overnight, the end of summer is the perfect time ot hit the water!

Enjoy a sunset cruise: As summer ends, the nights start to get cooler. This makes it a great time to pack some layers and a thermos full of a warm beverage to take the boat out to watch the sunset on the water.

Take a camping trip: If you’ve never taken your boat to camp, then you’re missing out! You can explore water-only campsites, camp in more remote areas, and enjoy a night under the stars. Whether you’re sleeping on your boat or at a campsite, you’ll have a great time.

Go see some fall foliage: If you’re looking to push your plans to the very end of boating season, plan a trip in late September or October to see the leaves begin to change and the fall foliage flourish.

Late-Summer Boating Activities

Now is the time to do some of the plans you’ve been pushing off all summer! There’s so much fun you can have on the water, like having a cookout or going tubing!

Move your indoor plans to the water: If you want to spend more time on the water before summer’s over, take your indoor plans to the water! From board games with your family to reading your favorite book to catching up on your shows, you can take your favorite indoor activities to the water!

Have a cookout on the water: You don’t need a galley to have a cookout on the water! Grab a portable grill, prep your favorite food, and invite a few friends. Enjoy good food, beautiful scenery, and great vibes!

Enjoy a day of watersports: There’s nothing more fun than a day of watersports on the water. Whether you’re into tubing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, or jet skiing, spend the last few weekends of summer having fun!

Check off your summer bucket list: Every summer we all make some form of the bucket list of things we just have to do this summer. As summer comes to an end, now is the time to check off some of the activities you’ve been putting off all summer! Whether it’s a sunset cruise, a fishing trip, or day cruising with friends, now’s the time to hit the water!
